Where’s Your Passion?
Are you passionate about the work you do?
Work without passion is flat. Work without passion can be gimmicky.
I think we’d all agree passion is one thing an entrepreneur can’t live without. Passion is a driving force; it creates activity and energizes your team. It’s conspicuous and contagious.
People follow passionate people.
And I’m not talking about raw emotionalism or hype. I’m talking about the fire behind the purpose of your business.
And, no, you don’t have to be passionate about excel sheets or accounting or flow charts. We all have to do things we don’t necessarily like because they just need to get done. But you do have to be passionate about your service or product. Passion is the fuel that will keep you going for the long haul.
If you’re just thinking up gimmicks and using hyperbole to attract the attention of customers, you’ll be disappointed every time.
If you’re not passionate about your service or product, if you don’t believe it’s the best or the answer, nobody else will either. Look at Apple. Apple is passionate about their products, and it’s infectious. Their customers have come to share that passion. And there’s substance behind it, not just feeling. The products and services live up to their claims. Passion and quality meet.
So are you passionate about your work? Are your people passionate about it? Do you believe in your product/service?
If not, now’s the time to remember why you’re doing what you do and who you want to serve. It’s time to reclaim your passion. Then watch how your actions follow that renewed passion and purpose to excellence.
